My sister and brother-in-law throw a big party every year in their backyard for their friends and people in their company. Some are going rafting in the morning, but I'll be there, in the hometown of Fat Tire, in the afternoon for the BBQ/beer, then the fireworks show from the adjacent park.

... throw two slabs of ribs, a chicken and an 8-pound Boston Butt in the smoker at about 6 a.m.
... drink a bloody Mary to wake me up.
... drink a mint julep at about 10.
... drink a Red Hook ESB at about 11.
... drink a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale at noon.
... drink a Budweiser with my barbecue.
... entertain my parents and in-laws.
... head to post for the fireworks and concert at about 6:30.
... let my wife and mother climb around in the helicopters on display.
    ... crash on the couch.

Work, work, then beach and grill on Sunday. Have Monday off, so might go to the Dodgers-Braves game.

That may be you, but I fully intend to celebrate throwing off the yoke of British oppression by that old, crazed despot!

Was going to Atlanta for the Peachtree and the Braves-Astros but the trip fell through. So I kept some of the time off and I will:

    *Walk an hour every day.
    *Read three books.
*Chuck the "Ballie" with my dogs for extended periods.
*Fix some spots in the fence that need fixing. I can do that with the one tool I own (a hammer).
*Go to Dillard's and buy some shirts that are on sale, mostly for my son's birthday
*Watch more of The Wire on DVD.
*Watch the Nats lose three times.
    *Do a smidge of housework.
*Drink lots of coffee that was given to me in Seattle.
*Hopefully do some other stuff that I don't want to mention here.
