McCartney first met Lennon at a high school concert on July 6, 1957.

I'd say it was more important than Beethoven meeting the piano and Elvis walking into Sun Records. And I don't even like the Beatles!

 

I thought it was gonna be Elvis and Col. Tom Parker.

 

If Elvis doesn't walk into Sun Records, Lennon and McCartney have nothing in common.

I've never understood this fascination with the Beatles. I've owned a few of their albums. I enjoy the simplicity of their music. But I still think a lot of talented jazz and blues musicians created rock music. Perhaps I'm wrong. I can't see that I'm an expert on the history of music.
