    Also on 03 June, this time in 1989, Chinese government forces with fixed bayonets moved in on the protesters in Tiananmen Square, U.S. diplomats saw Chinese soldiers firing on unarmed civilians. Just before sunrise the next morning, tanks rolled in and were seen crushing protesters under their treads.
