How many people try to stab themselves to death? Not many, I'd guess. That's certainly at the bottom of the list of ways anyone thought Lange would try to off himself.

Stern talked about Artie this morning in very loving terms, but he would not talk about the context of the Post story.

He just did not feel right, he said, talking about the story.

I dated a woman for a long period years ago whose mother went to a DC park and tried to slice herself to death.

    I cannot understand it either.

  4. That's ironic; a subjet Stern won't broach.

Awwwww. All of a sudden, Stern wants people to think he's being a decent guy, huh? I feel so bad for him. Ugh.

Stern has changed since he got remarried.

I think, though, he is a decent guy. I have listened to him on and off for years, and I never thought he was a mean person.

He needed listeners, and shocking them was the way he did it. Now that he is on Sirius, he does a lot less "shocking."

What's "shocking" is that anyone would pay that guy that kind of money. With very little return these days. Good for them.

Stern's fastball was always the interview.

I thought the whole point of Stern moving to satellite radio (beyond the money) was so he could be more "shocking."

  10. Are you serious?
The guy showcased the dumbest people he could find and exploited them for his (and his listeners') entertainment.
Yeah, he had "stars" on his show talk about their sex life, and he also had how many strippers porn stars, Stuttering John, Beetlejuice and scores of other different folks on to serve as punching bags for the staff.

    He's a fucking jerk.

He's obviously lost that fastball in the last few years. I don't know a single person who listens to him, and I know a ton of people with satellite radio.
