It's going to be very interesting to see how Lawrence O'Donnell handles all of this.

First of all, he'll have to work 5 days a week (which he was joking about this morning on Morning Joe).

But, he has all of the makings to be Olberman II, with all of the associated problems with senior management.

The statute of limitations for blaming George Bush ended today so he has nothing left to talk about.

  4. Maybe Olbermann can go back to making bad commercials

According to the NYT Media Decoder blog, KO and MSNBC worked out a deal to end the show late this week. So he had a little more notice than that.

I know you come at things from the left, but I don't get the sense that you're nearly as far left as Olbermann, nor an ideologue.

And, you're able to discuss the political news of the day in an even handed way and are willing to criticize your own side and/or give credit to the other side.

    From the Times:

As if they had to worry about that.

Had it been a spur-of-the-moment firing/resigning, there's no way that:

-- He'd have been able to put together that good a close
-- MSNBC would have let him anywhere near a live camera

Pretty odd that a network decides to dump it's most watched show - but then again, it's NBC.

Olbermann is the Larry Brown of TV.

Maddow and Schultz gone within 60 days -- probably considerably sooner.
