    I'd like to recommend a change in how media cover this kind of very sad story. We have always protected minors who commit such crimes from being named.

    Is there any chance that AP, or authorities or someone will get a clue and decide that if you're 16 and think you're old enough to commit such an awful crime, you are old enough to be publicly ID'd for it? Reading something like this makes me want to have that rule changed. The mug shot of the 18-year-old has him, from my point of view, smirking. Whatever the harshest penalty possible is, give it to him, I'd say.
