Braves winning the World Series in 1957

There isn't much auto racing on any lists so far. So how about these:

Dale Earnhardt winning the Daytona 500
Dale Earnhardt dying on the final lap of the Dayonta 500 in 2001
Alan Kulwicki winning the 1992 Winston Cup title
Michael Schumacher winning his seventh F1 title
Any title or significant race won by Mario Andretti, AJ Foyt, Richard Petty and Rick Mears
The F1 race that included the accident which took the life of Aryton Senna
IRL and CART splitting in 1995 (idiots)
The German CART race where Alex Zanardi crashed and was miraculously saved
The Indianapolis Grand Prix where the tires stunk and hardly any drivers competed

    Poin ... stellar ...

    Where's hockey?
    Like ...

    The 1972 Summit Series
    Bobby Orr's flying goal
The Calgary Flames becoming the only team in history to win the Cup on Forum ice
Bobby Baun's game-winner (yeah, yeah, JR ... Leafs history ... some of it is important)
    The 1987 Canada Cup

There's more ... dammit ... this cold is fogging my brain.

Xan, doll ... I've been a Flames fan since I was 4. I've blocked out most Oilers accomplishments.

    Sorry to hear that, Flash.

In this case, this should be among your top 3, watching the Oilers in full meltdown.

Keep them coming. How did I not type Frazier? You can tell I was being pulled away a few times when I typed that up.

I will redo the thread on Monday with the additions and everyone can keep adding.

Thanks to everyone for the many events I forgot or just plain didn't know about. NASCAR and soccer, I'm looking in your direction.

You forgot Bettis winning Super Bowl XL in his hometown. Did you know he's from Detroit?
