    I don't believe that anyone is getting "worked up". It's a few keystrokes back and forth on a message board. Nobody's curing cancer on any of the other threads, why do you care if we discuss this?

    Yes, and ad revenue and circ numbers mean nothing in the newspaper business.
    Look out over your computer terminal at what's left of your newsroom, then tell me that we should pay no attention to the health of a particular business.

    I did not say the sky had fallen on baseball's business model.
    But the national TV money has got to go down in the next round, because the ratings aren't there to support the current charges. And I firmly believe that business model, allowing the powerful individual franchises to suck the other teams dry, has led to the decline in post-August baseball interest in half the league or more.
    I'm sorry, but I think that's worth discussing.
