Ohio HS FB coaches suggest honoring Tressel

If a HS coach wanted to truly honor Tressel, all he has to do is find a highly talented but ineligible running back, magically make him eligible, ride him to a state title and then promptly drop him like a hot potato after the season is over. Aside from wearing a sweater vest, wouldn't that be the best way to honor Tressel?

Nobody said he was an angel. Go back and read my initial post, which wasn't even ABOUT Tressel. It was about some people here and elsewhere who think everything is black and white and that they are the arbiters of how everyone else should feel about the guy and his career.

I say that's BS.

The public sideline tribute stuff is a passive-aggressive protest against the evil forces (the evull media mainly and of course the NCAA) which have unfairly forced this sweet and innocent man to the sidelines.

These are fucking HIGH SCHOOL coaches attempting to organize a public tribute to rulebreaking.

The NCAA needs to fuckin' stomp on it. Follow the fucking rules. Oh, and high school coaches, get over yourselves. There's a reason you are high school coaches.

The tribute is not to rule-breaking just because that is your perception of it.

Tressel was inducted into the association's hall of fame last Friday.

Tressel's 10-year tenure at Ohio State ended May 30 when he resigned amid revelations that he knew players were trading memorabilia for cash and tattoos in violation of NCAA rules and covered it up for nine months.
