    News blooper of the day.

... and credibility takes another hit. Well done, Channel 3 news team!

I can't even imagine the screaming that went on in that control room.

    Wow. That's bad.
But wouldn't this be better on the "When Squirrels Attack!" thread?
    Or is that a hamster?

This is why, as a graphics operator, I hate blind reveals.

"Placeholder image" that never got replaced?

That's my guess...but if we weren't too busy making sure everything flew all over the screen all the time...

Holy shit... that's the only thing I can think of as a possibility, and it's brainless if that's the case.

Our placeholder image is the station logo. If it hit air, most people wouldn't even realize it was a mistake.

ESPN has a system where they can guarantee you never have a wrong head shot pop up...all their game disks are excel based, but the shells have an outline of a blank face with a big question mark over them. You cannot put the wrong head in there, period.

Now, Fox is different, they put dummy heads in their shells, and unfortunately, during the Orange Bowl, I had Tim Tebow where one of the Cincinnati linemen should have been in the starting lineups. It doesn't warn you like ESPN that the headshot's name does not match the database.
