Oh, Lord. ESPN planning a late-night show.

    Maybe they could resurrect the old staff of the Enterprise Sports Network. Jay Howard, Wild Bill Denehy ... I used to love listening to those guys late at night.

    I could see them doing something like a "Red Eye" or "Chelsea Lately" with sports or a daily "Cheap Seats," bring on Doug Benson, Mark Pitta and Jemele Hill watching highlights Mystery Science Theater 2K style.

    But will it work? The answer is no.

    Credit should go to Whitlock, Dan Leb and Cowherd (wudda been a hell of a turnaround for his morning show) - but really you already have a MLB wrap up show, you have SportsCenter - if it isn't live its just going to be another Best Damn Sports Show (is that thing still on?) They'd be better off just sticking a camera on their ESPN Radio overnight show.
