So from reading sentences like this:

On a 1-1 count Wong squares to bunt and drops it in front of Fetter and brings in Wells who was running on the play.

I trust you're not usually a baseball wirter.

Cislo leads off for Michigan. Stutes has only allowed one hit for Michigan, yet hasn't appeared to be dominating Michigan. Only 77 pitches and one walk. Cisclo flies out to deep left. Centerfielder Eric Rose up who belts it to deep, deep left and over the fence for a home run. Oregon State 7, Michigan 1. New left fielder John Wallace snags a fly ball from shortstop Jason Christian. A lot of the cloud cover has burned off. Brad Roblin gets caught looking for out three.
After the top of the sixth: Oregon State 7, Michigan 1.

Ogata flied out to lead off the bottom of the sixth. Canham hits a dribbler up the middle. Braden Wells strikes out swinging. Lechelt lays a bunt down to third but gets thrown out on a bare-handed throw to first.
End of six full: Oregon State 7, Michigan 1.
Frankly, I thought the Sopranos ending was the lamest since Seinfeld

Recknagel, Putnam and Abraham go down 1-2-3. I really surprised Michigan hasn't been able to get any offense going. Any Michigan fans out there care to offer thoughts?
End of the top of the 7th, Oregon 7, Michigan 1.
Did you know Steve Lyons played at Oregon State. Anybody know what he's up to these days after getting bounced from FOX?

Lennerton and Hopkins go down for the first two outs of the inning. Second baseman Joey Wong up but goes down looking on a check swing.
End of the 7th inning: Oregon State 7, Michigan 1.

Some of the Beaver fans brought brooms to the game. Is that appropriate for a best of three series, and which is preferred the push-broom or the standard model or even the whisk broom? Does the NCAA allow brooms into stadiums?

I think Steve Lyons is on pregame/postgame for Diamondbacks.

While not exactly pop culture, Michigan's Adam Abraham played two seasons of major junior hockey as a defenseman with the Ontario Hockey League's Mississauga IceDogs. He hung up his skates at age 18 in order to play college baseball with the Wolverines.

After a lead-off fly out to first, Vanbuskirk strikes out for the second out. Cislo up and works count to 3-2 before flying out to Wallace in left. Michigan just hasn't gotten anybody on base to mount a challenge or even be in a position to manufacture runs.
End of the top of th 8th: Oregon State 7, Michigan 1.

Wallace leads off with a walk and advances to third after a stolen base wild pitch to pinch-hitter Scott Sanchi. Sanchi hits it to short for an infield hit driving in Wallace. Oregon State 8, Michigan 1. Canham flies out to right. Braden Wells up and hits a dribber up the middle that is kept from the outfield by the second baseman for a hit. But the inning ends on a flyout.
End of the Eight: Oregon State 8, Michigan 1.
Any Michiganders think having the Wolverines host this series might have made a difference in their play? From what I heard, they declined the opportunity to host a super-regional.

Michigan has three outs left with Eric Rose leading off. First two pitches are over for strikes and the Wolverines have broken out their rally hats. A few "shark fins" a couple of bills to the side. Is one better than another? Rose works the count full and Rose puts it deep over the left field fence. Oregon State 8, Michigan 2. Maybe there is something to those rally caps? Stutes leaves with no outs in the top of the ninth giving up three hits, two of them homers. Right hander Eddie Kunz in for Oregon State

Jason Christian flies out to left for out number 1. Brad Roblin up and lines it into center. Those rally caps must REALLY work. Nate Recknagel up grounds back to Kunz who tosses it to second for one out and then Wong tosses to first for the double play. Game over. I guess those rally caps don't necessarily work. Michigan held to four hits.
FINAL: Oregon State 8, Michigan 2. Oregon State advances to College World Series.
