'Shrek,' 'Spider-Man' and 'Pirates' are occupying most of the screens in town, but 'Hot Fuzz' is still playing.
    'Bug' is also playing.
I want to see both this weekend, but we also had planned to go hiking up in the mountains.
    Quandry.

I just saw 28 Weeks Later and it wasn't too bad. Had some plot holes, but none too shaby. Enjoyed it more than Spiderman. Doubt I see Shrek, and stuck seeing pirates with the girlfriend next week.
I'm hoping Transformers and Fantastic Four turn the tide of summer bombs.

    That's a long shot.

Shrek the Third did not suck... it was really good.
Spiderman 3 on the hand, outside of the action scenes, sucked.

I probably checked my watch about 10 times during Pirates...

I've heard good things about Bug. I'll probably see that this week...

This is the worst part of the summer for movies because if you don't want to see one of the blockbusters, you're SOL...

I loved the second Shrek. Loved it. Laughed my ass off throughout...

In Shrek the Third I laughed a couple times and that's it.

The wife does not want to go see anything because we have a 52 inch HD TV and a Netflix and DVR que out the door.

That, and most of what we watch on TV (Lost, Sopranos, The Office, Planet Earth) is much better than 95 percent of what we see in the theaters.

We will only see something in the theaters is it has great reviews on Yahoo movies (grade of at least a B or higher, usually a B+ or higher). It just costs too much. Plus, we will wait a week to avoid all the ass hats and to be crammed in with them.

I saw 300 by myself, and I even thought that was not all that great.

The best movie I've seen this year is Zodiac.

    Breach was also outstanding.

What I could see going to see, and that is only if it gets great reviews after the first weekend...

    Bourne
Harry Potter (we have read all of the books, guilty pleasure)
    Knocked Up
    Oceans 13
Transformers (I have a sneaking feeling it will be great)
Simpsons (God, I hope it is great)

Bourne and Knocked Up are the two I'm most excited about...

    Superbad also sounds tremendous...

Sub in Die Hard for Transformers and that's my summer list.
