    Two sentimental choices:

Sahara: I stayed there everytime my family went to Vegas, A LOT, growing up. Plus, it had the arcade with the Journey video game.

The Frontier: I've stayed there hundreds of times, too.

    As for entertainment: Olympic Gardens.

The Sahara is a bit of a dump now, and it's kind of far from the rest of the action, but they host surprisingly good poker tournaments.

When I was there a few weeks ago (10 days is way too long for one Vegas trip, BTW), I heard the Sahara is slated for demolition by the end of 2007. Jones is right, the daily noon poker tournament is pretty good.

And whoever asked about shopping, if you're on the Strip you're not far from good shopping. FashionShow Mall is mid-Strip with the Forum Shops in Caeser's Palace nearby.

In early March, all that is walkable.

Hey, if you're thinking of making the trip, drop me a line. I'm less than a few hours drive from Cooperstown.

BTW, I'm out for Vegas. Afraid to fly.

Both NASCAR weekend and the first weekend of the NCAAs are brutal, roomrate-wise. Shop early, as any degree of grandeur
will cost you dearly. I'll be there for the first NCAA weekend, in any event. That is a sustained sight to behold.

NASCAR/Conference Hoop Tourney weekend is now out of consideration. Too many of us too tied up.

It shall be Final Four weekend, March 30-Apr. 2. Still a sporting event for us to get our jollies with, but the town won't be overrun by racing fans and crazed BYU fans looking for the best buffet.

I'll find something central strip -- Mirage, Treasure Island, Venetian, Caesars, etc. -- with easy access to shopping. Maybe we can arrange an impromptu 4-man best ball golf excursion. It will be warm, but not too warm.

Count me in, especially since it's clear you were kidding about Circus Circus. Last time I stayed there was 1990. It was bad then, and hasn't improved with age. I'm in on the golf outing, too. Even if the golf's expensive, I'll spend less there than I would in the same five hours in a casino.

Sahara is usually fairly cheap, but it's a little run down. Not real bad though. NYNY usually isn't too expensive.
