Get this. The major I was supposed to pick up at the airport was being picked up by his wife, who STILL lives here at Lewis (the family just hasn't moved overseas with him yet b/c of the passport situations). Needless to say, he was suprised to see Lt. three_bags_full waiting for him at luggage carousel #8.

120 miles and a wasted evening.

    Shitfuck.

I would have loved to have heard one firecracker tonight. Unfortunately, I had to work. Two-man crew tonight, slow day, and that holiday pay will help. No firecrackers, no burgers and brats. But I did wake up when the town parade went by the apartment at 10 a.m.

It's been two years since I've had the Fourth away from work. I'm not working it next year, if I can help it.

This was the first time I've spent the Fourth anywhere but Oklahoma. I have to say that sitting on the edge of the Tidal Basin, just up from the Jefferson Memorial, and watching the fireworks in the same frame with the Washington Monument was absolutely phenomenal.

They were likely the best fireworks I've ever seen, and being in the nation's capital for the event was really moving.

Can't wait to get my film developed.

Or you could have took matters into your own hand like this guy:

CLEVELAND - A neighbor apparently angry about noisy fireworks shot three people to death early Thursday and wounded two others, police said.

I went to a professional show at the beach with a friend of mine. During the real show someone no more than a couple hundred feet down the beach started lighting off their own cheep, Wal-Mart grade stuff. My friend (who might have had a few beers) turned to me and said, "That's like an Asian midget walking into a porn star only locker room."

I wanted to go to Stone Mountain to see the laser show and fireworks but it wasn't in the cards. Then the local show I go to sometimes was canceled because it's too dry. So I sat and pouted while I watched them on TV, because I really do enjoy fireworks.

Then the dumbasses on my street were shooting mortars out at an angle (like the way you do roman candles when you are holding the tube) out towards the street. Dumbasses! They were attempting to shoot them straight down the street but several blew up in the pine trees and in people's yard. It's a miracle nothing caught on fire.

This is a married couple that has been quite entertaining throughout the years to eavesdrop on their fights. Not that anyone within a five block radius would have a hard time hearing them anyway. They'll be outside screaming at the top of their lungs, calling each other everything imaginable. I've listened to them for the last eight years and can't believe their still together. I think I'll miss them when I move.
