Today, Chip passed the halfway mark in required plate appearances for a batting average to be official.

He is hitting .421 with 255 plate appearances (502 is the required minimum)

    .421 on June 7.

During his .390 season, George Brett was hitting .333 headed into June 7.

    Go, Chipper, go.

After tonight, looks like he might have to also play second if the Braves want to beat Philly.

Yeah, it's kind of like talking about a no-hitter in the fourth inning.

OK, yappy. Who was the last guy to be hitting at least .421 on June 7?
