Just awful. There were no barriers along the course, and the truck apparently lost control on a jump and wrecked into the crowd. AP story I saw said one person was decapitated, and four others were trapped under the truck after the crash. That story also said there were reports of spectators throwing rocks at the driver, who was not hurt, and the driver had to flee the scene.

    A couple more links.
From a TV station. It includes a home video clip of the accident, although you can't actually see it. The truck zips past a crowd, you can tell it gets squirelly on the jump, then you see people reacting to the wreck. Toward the end there's a few people laying on the ground and you can see the truck resting upside down.

And a story from the Riverside Press Enterprise. Reading the comments, it seems there's a lot of morons living in Riverside.

Throwing rocks at the driver is a nice touch.

How about throwing rocks at yourself for being dumb as fuck? Anybody sitting a few feet from an off-road track with no barrier between the track & fans at all is a fucking idiot to begin with.

Ugh. Watching that video, I'd have to agree. Tragic.
