In the original 1936 voting for the Baseball Hall of Fame, 26 of the 27 top vote-getters eventually made the Hall. Who's the only one who didn't?

A guy who actually threw games, as opposed to what many believe about Shoeless Joe.

Which Hall of Fame player made the final out in the game in which Babe Ruth hit his 60th homer?

Walter Johnson, and he flied out to Ruth.

Also his final big league game. One of my favorite pieces of trivia.

I always “knew” that Tom Zachary gave up Ruth’s 60th so my first thought was this can’t be right. But it is because I looked it up and now am a little baffled. Johnson was a pitch hitter for Zachary, but didn’t pitch. What the hell was going on there?

They just let Johnson pinch hit for the hell of it and that ended up being his last game.
