    Thomas Nast did the cartoon that popularized it - but it was based on Andrew Jackson appropriating being called a "jackass" during his campaign in 1820 and using it on his posters.

    This state's two largest cities were formerly known as Centralia and Edwinton before being renamed for historical figures. What state and what are the cities named today?

    My first guess would be New Jersey, but those names have a certain Ohio feel to them.

    It has been mentioned earlier in this thread that John Tyler still has living grandchildren.

    Not only do they still live — although they are well into their 90s — one lives in the family estate between Richmond and Williamsburg, in the longest wood-framed house in the country. It’s called Sherwood Forest, and it’s open to the public. Family members act as tour guides.
