    1. If Anthony Weiner had re-run for that seat would he have won? Yes. And he was one of the most vocal progressives around.

    2. There's no political group that the electorate hates right now more than Republicans in Congress. If they're "over" anything it is the regressive economically treasonous tactics they are employing to gain a perceived political benefit. The electorate is sick of politicians who run from policies they just recently supported only because the President now adopts them. There's no republican presidential candidate who can be nominated that would change the basic dynamics. None that will pass political viability with the general electorate. The election will tighten, as it does, next summer and fall but in the end Obama will handily win reelection.

Point, I believe there is a 60-40 chance the president will lose re-election. Right-wingers say Obama's policies haven't worked. The thing is though, we've tried Republican economic polices. They haven't worked either.

What's funny is the guy that is unsarcastically criticizing Obama's choice of office supplies is parroting the same slash-and-burn regressive memes that got us into the economic crisis to begin with.

I'd like to hear this. How did we get into this economic crisis?

    1. Tax cuts that (shocker!) didn't magically net the government more revenue.

    2. Two unpaid for wars.

    3. Deregulation of Wall Street that began in the Clinton era and continued through Bush.

    4. Republican reversal of pay-go rules.

    5. Irresponsible unpaid for republican entitlement spending (prescription drug benefit).
