I'm not buying all this "I don't know where I sent my money" crap. Neither Fox, nor Obama, are telling the truth.

    Fucking politicians.

    Christ, who gives a shit?

I care about this almost as much as I do Rudy's 21-year-old spoiled brat son ripping him...

    Which means, not at all...

Oh, I didn't mean that it didn't deserve a thread... I'm just sick of everybody expecting every politician to be a fucking Eagle Scout...

Say this for Obama, it's not a case of the rich getting richer. He was in debt going into the Senate, not absurd spending debt, but normal, American debt. He was still paying student loans. He used his book advance to pay off his campaign and school debts. Not to say this was right, but if you had the opportunity to build some money up while you work for a fifth of what you'd make in the private sector, wouldn't you?

I was reading through that passage waiting for them to say he turned that investment into $500,000 or some other obscene amount. He lost money. I don't see the big deal.

Yes, but he MADE money by writing those $13,000 off on his taxes!

There's some good stuff down deep in the story -- such as one of the Swift Boat financiers funding Obama's campaign. That seems like an odd marriage.

Also, if your wife suddenly gets a promotion and triples her annual salary to more than $300K and you land a $2 million book deal, why should you need help from a political donor to purchase a $1.6 million house?

Part of Mr. Obama's charm is that he's considered a newcomer and "cleaner." What the above paragraphs show -- his taking money from less-than-reputable sources and using high-powered friends to make personal gains. That's no different than other pols, so it takes some of the shine off Obama's image.

That's why it's interesting and at least worth a look from Democratic voters.

Any politician who ascends the ladder in Chicago has some sort of skeleton in his closet.

Obama's biggest one goes by the name of Tony Rezko.

    I'm stupid, whatever.

I'm saying if these fucking politicians keep saying and implying they're better than me, they ought to at least act like it.

I'm not necessarily the best role model for my soldiers, but goddamit, I act like it.
