At least Obama is owning up to it. Though, I guess when drone missiles fall from the sky, it's hard to act like you don't know how that happened.

Agreed. Especially so given that many wanted Bush and Cheney prosecuted for the same.

I wonder if Obama would still win The Nobel Peace Prize.

The difference is, Obama is saying these attacks are necessary just for our safety. Bush and Cheney were trying to make it into a religious war with a healthy dose of patriotism thrown in.

 

Tough to do regime change and democratize a region one band of bad guys at a time. You need to invade entire countries to make that kind of wholesale geopolitical shift.

 

Bush was saying the same thing. Read the 2002 State of Union address. He was pretty clear of his intentions:

"Our nation will continue to be steadfast, and patient and persistent in the pursuit of two great objectives. First, we will shut down terrorist camps, disrupt terrorist plans and bring terrorists to justice.

And second, we must prevent the terrorists and regimes who seek chemical, biological or nuclear weapons from threatening the United States and the world. "
