Obama charging for access

    I put this on a thread on the politics board, but maybe we can get a discussion going on the journalistic implications of this here. Unless it's a D_B.

    Fairly common, both in sports media and in politics. Both campaigns have been charging media organizations for access, which is fine by me --- ethically, it means that nobody can accuse journalists of accepting special favors from either campaign.

    On Election Night, McCain's campaign isn't offering any sort of free access, unlike the Obama campaign.

    Because athletes' salaries aren't paid for by my tax dollars
