Obama acts "white"

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Killick, Sep 19, 2007.

  1. How in the name of god is he close to public office? He speaks. People listen. 20 years ago, he ran a remarkable campaign for president -- one, to which, so far, Barack Obama can only aspire. More to him than the endless recitation of sins and cheap shots. (Rudy doesn't seem to be any closer to his legitimate children than Jesse is to his illegitimate ones.) All's I'm saying.
And the substantive response to what I posted is well done.

    Obama is a fake.

Secondly, stop having your campaign people call at 7 am, jerk off!

    1. Rudy's not a man of the cloth.
    2. What does Rudy have to do with a discussion about Jackson and Obama?

Not defending Jackson in general, but he actually has a point here. The shit that's going on in Jena is as foul as foul can get, and it's taken almost a year for it to get attention. Some black kids sit under the "White Tree" at a high school, nooses are hung around the tree because of it, a black kid gets beat up, a white kid gets beat up, and instead of it being a high school fight, it's six black kids possibly spending 20 years in prison as adults because of the town they're in and the racial undertones of that town.

Jackson's choice of words? If he actually said Obama was acting white, piss poor. But his point behind those words is legitimate. If far too few people are paying attention to what's going on down there, I'm sure the parents of those kids would think black people with any sort of influence — be they politicians, entertainers, whoever — would put a spotlight on the situation.

If anything, the shit going on in Jena is finally a situation that actually deserves the attention Jackson would give to it. Way worse that Imus. It's too bad that when Jackson and Sharpton are associated with a situation, it gets no merit by default.

    Alas, alas.

If Jackson hadn't long-ago stereotyped himself as a one-note professional racketeer, perhaps fewer people would automatically tune him out.

But that cake was baked, long ago. And he did it to himself. In full public view.

The Jena situation is horrific. It's deserving of full sustained attention and exposure. And some folks with unblemished credibility will continue to throw it in the public's face -- as they should.

  10. Unfortunately, Ben, since It's Never About Race, some people will find a reason to tune out any black leader who speaks up in public.

Class remains the 800-pound gorilla in this country.

    Race is his younger brother.

Jena situation is complete bullshit and another lie propagated by the media-savvy yet race baiting whores and liars like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. If Jackson and Sharpton are involved I will just assume that the defendants, if black, are guilty and deserve to be punished as if denizens of hell. If the defendants are anything but black, I will assume that Sharpton and Jackson are merely framing them and seeking to lynch them, by any means possible.

Sharpton and Jackson are base, arrogant and swill sniffing tools and those that follow them, listen to them are merely too ignorant and defective to have a semi-serious independent thought. They are the worst kind of demagogue, wanna be cult leaders whose only goal is personal enrichment both material & sexual enrichment and desirous of their own version of evil omnipotence.

So long as Jackson and Sharpton preach for the Jena boys, rational American journalism needs to put their cause in the context of their most outspoken advocates.
