    Bunt the damn ball. If you're a professional pitcher and you can't get out batters who are trying to beat you, you won't be a professional pitcher very long. Do your damn job.
     
  2. What about this scenario:

    bottom of the ninth, Red Sox up 3-2, one out and runners on second and third.

    Travis Hafner at the plate with a 50-game hit streak. 0-for-3 so far.

    The smart move is to walk him and set up the double play. Or does the pitcher owe him "an honest at-bat"

    I don't have any problem with that. Like you said, that's an honest at-bat for him.
