Best part? Without the error, Schilling never has to face Stewart. And don't think he isn't WELL aware of that little nugget.

I'm sure Schilling looks at it that way, though in fairness, if it was me I probably would, too.

Lugo fields an easy ground ball, and Schill has a perfect game.

He said all the right things in the postgame interview, though. Just wanted to get the win, stop the losing streak.

"I'm also going to throw Julio out of the airplane at 35,000 feet."
    "What's that?"
    "This interview is over."

    Vote for Bush!

  8. At this rate we'll need a running no-hitter thread. What is that five now that made it into the seventh or eighth?

    Nice pitch, Curt.

Just to start a little friendly debate here (which will turn ugly in 15 posts or so):
Say Oakland's version of Ichiro came up in that game with two-outs in the ninth, down 1-0. Is bunting there still kosher? I mean, sure, there's a no-hitter going on, but you also need just a run to tie things up.

Personally, I think the bunt is in bounds. Anything to generate a little momentum and get the winning run to the plate.

In a one-run game, I have no problem with a bunt in that situation. If it's a one-sided game, then I think it's highly questionable.

    I'll vote for Stewart.
