Even Poynter is having a rough go of it now in St. Pete, aren't they? I would imagine McClatchy would get more in a write-off than a sale at this point, but they desperately need cash, not tax write-offs.

    MMatt, you are correct.
While some major stories have been picked up and are given good play in the Herald-SS-Post sharing system, most stories are picked up to fill holes.
    Beats AP.

    A Postie.

The S-S is also printing the Palm Beach Post and the Herald (in addition to The New York Times, USA Today and Barron's), with the PBP printing plant set to close entirely.

As the middle paper of the three geographically, S-S should have the other two SoFla papers by the balls soon.

    They have the Post already.

However, they desperately need a local buyer to come in and be happy making money the S-S still makes.

They need to be able to cut free from the Tribune carcass.

    Especially after today's news.

Wonder how far behind McClatchy is.
