NYT: Last Words of the Condemned

    This is good.

    These are the last words of those who were Texecuted.

    It's almost better to read why they were condemned to death before you read their last words.

    That was very interesting. I'm surprised how many admitted they were guilty.

    "Texecuted" is a cool word. "Condemed" ... not so much.

    I liked this look at their quotes, too. I wish there were many more.

    Texecuted I meant. Used it in heds all the time.

    Condemed I screwed up, meant condemned, now fixed.

    Guardian has a similar story today and points out that all the final statements are available on the TDOC page. Their last meals used to be as well, but they were taken down because some of them were so ridiculous. That's also the reason they pretty much stopped the ordered-in last meal; I think now all they get is whatever they want out of the normal inmate food rotation (i.e., you could have fish sticks on sloppy joe night).
