The criminal evidence may not be enough to convict these guys of sexual assault, but the evidence that these guys were assholes is overwhelming.

  2. Jason --
Specifics, from the Times story, please. "The Times tries to pretend." Whoa.
Otherwise, it sounds like the I'm A Contrarian band is warming up again.
This is going to trial. Once there, let's see who flips.

  3. there's overwhelming evidence that reade seligmann??? was somewhere else in durham.... there's overwhelming evidence that these two escorts are very capable of lying.

beyond that, everything else is up for serious debate

The NYT gave a lot of credence to one police officer's notes that were suddenly "discovered" and conveniently happened to support most of the stripper's allegations. That's the only thing new in this article.

    Count me as very skeptical.

Are you suggesting the notes are fabricated?

    And that's relevant why?

If it were a crime to be an asshole, there'd be far more people around the world in prison than out. Wait, I'll save everybody the trouble -- yes, I'd have a lengthy criminal record. ;)

After reading the article, the first thing I did was Google a pic of the kid whose DNA was found in the bathroom to see if he looked like Seligmann. He does.

The lineup process was completely screwed up, and to me, that alone is enough for reasonable doubt.

If being an asshole was a crime, 12.5 percent of SportsJournalists.commers would be in trouble.
