n.y. post and their so-called "nfl expert" -- some guy named hubbuch -- (whiffed on this one, big-time. well, maybe they didn't whiff -- the post believes in creating undo panic one day to resolve it the next, which i'm sure they will do tomorrow.

but you'd think the jets or league would've tipped 'em off -- no way woody will let the games be blacked out. he'll buy all the remaining tix himself before letting that happen, and can do so on the (relatively) cheap: http://www.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/jets-psl-sales-won-t-prompt-tv-blackouts-1.1909969

not surprising woody failed to stop the post from misrepresenting the blackout possibility. for a man of some intellugence his lack of media savvy after several years in the spotlight never ceases to amaze.

Couldn't read the whole article because it's not free. (That's a whole other discussion, right?)

But Shockey, I know sometimes a team sponsor will buy up a bunch of tickets and give them away or just pocket them to avoid a blackout, but how will that work with the PSLs?

The Jets won't sell individual tickets to games for seats that have a PSL attached to it right?

Won't that prevent them from selling the tickets to avoid a blackout?

We used to do that in college. Then the attendants started showing up at five. We would show up at 2, and then get a ticket for overnight parking.

Fat Boy on WFAN is having a field day with this right now, having talked to Woody (I guess, missed the first hour) and now its talking to hysterical Jets fans worried their games are going to be blacked out.

Articles like that one that appear in the Post always have a purpose. They never are just happenstance. Someone ( Woody? ) wanted to get it out there so the debate would start. No way the Networks will allow the Jets to be blacked out in their biggest market.

Some guy named Hubbuch is Bart Hubbuch, who used to be the Jags beat writer for the Florida Times-Union.

Word is that the PSL's not sold is closer to 17,000.

This may be a dumb question, but as a New York metro area resident... If a Jets game is blacked out, will the stations show another game, or just a blank screen?

    Maybe they'll broadcast 'Heidi' instead.
