*Sunshine frantically Googles things that conservatives have been on the right side of history. Bangs his head against keyboard when the search comes up blank*

I have no doubt Baron owns -- if not has read -- A People's History of the United States.

My cousin, the socialist who moved to Sweden, mentioned it during a recent visit. I nearly burst out laughing, but was mostly able to hold it together. We really like my cousin and his daughter, and look forward to their visits, so I wasn't going to get into a debate with him.

    LOL.

Yes, let's take the term liberal, in it's classic sense, and apply it to people who are commonly referred to as liberal in today's American politics.

Another classic Baron attempt to claim history for his political side.

In opposition to your attempts to attack Democrats from the past or Republicans from the past that you'd like to blame on the Democrats when your favorite party is failing miserably in discussions of the present.

Well, what have conservatives done in history?

Heck, conservatives considered it heresy if someone said the world wasn't flat.

Sorry. I didn't feel like Yahoo searching the proper grammar for my sentences.

YF knows what I'm talking about. No way he will admit it, but he knows.

I know what you're talking about in general -- and it's silly -- but your sentence is all kinds of bad.

    No kidding.

But, he's funny. When I point out that folks like Baron don't want to claim the Dems of old, but also don't want to claim the Republicans of old, even though they're trying to dump the Dems on us, I'm pointing out his hypocrisy.

Somehow, OOP doesn't get that, and thinks I'm being a hypocrite.
