    Usually, you're serious.
    This just isn't.
    Government-funded science -- especially in this country -- is a vital part of scientific growth and of the economy. Boilerplate the-government-always-fucks-up rhetoric on this point is not, well, apt.

    My position shouldn't be taken as a blanket statement against government-funded science. Only against an overhyped long shot in which the private sector is willing to invest little of its own money. That's very telling.
