Oh, I didn't know it was an AP photo. I retract my previous statement with all apologies.

The photo was given to AP, according to the cutline, so who knows.

I would like to see more photos and/or video before I believe it's real. :)

Oh, and if it's real -- who's stayin for the BBQ later on?

The kid is just 11, so his small size throws you off when you're looking at it.

That said, we've killed 300-400 pounders on our hunting property. Those are true wild hogs that have to forage for food. So I have no doubt a hunting ranch could put out enough feed to grow one even larger.

Three or four times larger, though?

From the look of it, that thing's the size of a rhino.

  9. I'm surprised and disappointed AP apparently did nothing to verify the claim. The photo was submitted and they talked to the boy over the phone.

Maybe it's true but that photo is just unfathomable.

Again, look at the kid. He might only be 4-foot-10. The hog wouldn't look nearly as huge if a 6-2 man was standing there.

And with all the corn it could eat, I could see a hog getting that big. I'm sure the hunting ranch has game-cams all over the place and have been tracking this thing for a couple of years now.

  11. That kid ain't much smaller than your average full-grown man.

How can you tell? Just going by his age, I'm guessing he's not 6-0. Unless he comes from a family of 7-footers.
