One victory over a team that you play multiple times a season doesn't make the case that the Cubs are better than the Phillies. Who the hell are you trying to kid? The Phillies are 43-27 over the last 10 years against the Cubs. They're 5-2 this year. Get a grip.

Watched the whole crazy game. Notre Dame had more talent. South Florida figured out a way to win. Very similar to the kinds of upsets Skip Holtz used to pull when he coached at East Carolina.

You could make a reasoned argument that South Florida just played its toughest matchup of the season. They have a Thursday night road game at Pitt on just five days rest. But all the other toughies (West Virginia, Miami) are at home. I'm not saying South Florida is going to run the table, but a 9-3 or 10-2 breakthrough season does not seem out of the question.

Notre Dame is certainly talented enough to beat Michigan next week. Who knows if they will, though.

    Both had one loss.

FSU lost on the road to a top-five team.

Notre Dame lost at home to an unranked team.

The national championship was decided by polls. FSU won both polls, and it wasn't close. Argue with the media members and coaches who decided FSU was way better.

An aside on Brian Kelly: He is one foul-mouthed coach, and it just seemed strange to have him dropping curse words every time the cameras focused on him on a field that Touchdown Jesus overlooks.

I'm guessing even Touchdown Jesus used a few four-letter words for Notre Dame's performance in the first half.

ND wide receiver Michael Floyd had a great game. Wonder if he submitted to a breathalizer after the game.

ND administrators still think Ozzie And Harriett is the top-rated TV show. Livin' in the 50s.

Last national title in 1988, just 4 years after Supreme Court NCAA TV ruling. Since 1984, college football has evolved into a conference-driven (soon to be super conference-driven) sport. As Dick Whitman pointed out, ND can't schedule as do other teams that are in conferences. And that's a big reason why all the talk about Texas going the independent route is ridiculous.

    No "we" about it.

    Not an apologist.

Five turnovers to zero turnovers. Five hundred and eight yards to 254 yards.

Notre Dame is a more talented team than USF. It's not close.

Actually, the scoreboard said 23-20. Notre Dame lost. Who cares if they are actually better.

You know it's bad when the WWL pixelates over his mouth when chewing out his QB after the interception. Not bleeps the audio, distorts the mouth for lipreaders.
