    I can say with 100 percent certainty that, within some organizations, someone who works cheap and spends half their day on Twitter is far more desirable than someone who's a good writer and reporter.

    You would think sports writers, people jaded by nature, wouldn't be surprised when college grads with great resumes get hired to moderately good jobs.

    The last guy to have the job was one whole year of of college.

    He was an intern for the last 20 weeks for me at the SA Express-News and a good kid with a good bit of talent. He will do well.

    Yes he was Class of 2018. They are probably paying the kid $25,000, which would make sense since no one with experience would take that.

    I find it highly unlikely a 45,000 circ paper is paying $25,000 for that job. South Bend is probably a somewhat cheap place to live. Not that cheap.
