Part of an evil conspiracy to convince people the singer/songwriter is no more?

BTW, if you really haven't heard Fogelberg, you MUST have lived in a cave. he was a staple of long car rides with mom and dad.

My dad refused to listen to the radio on "family Sunday drives." Said it defeated the purpose of having family time.

And my mom made me listen to Rod Stewart.

    "Part of the Plan"?

    "Heart Hotels"?

    "Hard to Say"?

    Hard to believe.

This thread has inspired me to listen to all of his stuff on youtube... great stuff and a lot that I forgot he did... listening to a live version of "Leader of the Band" as I type this...

No but apparently she's all over "Some Guys Have All The Luck," "Young Turks" and "Love Touch." :D :D :D

The BS part explains it. Of course, I wish he'd stop. He's not helping that genre too much ...

And I'd take Dan Fogelberg over Rod Stewart any day of the week and three times on those weekend drives.

So you've never heard Same Auld Lang Syne?

You might remember it if you heard it.

Well, my mom and dad's song was Maggie May (I have no idea why) and my mom loved him.

I do like "Broken Arrow" though. :D

Again, no. I've listened to samples of every song listed in the obit posted here. Never heard any of them.

That was my mom's favorite song. She had the hots for Rod the Bod, and I'll never understand why. ::)

Listening to 'Same Auld Lang Syne' I'm reminded of one of the lyrics that always hit home to me...

"She would have liked to say she loved the man
But she didn't like to lie..."

Ijag, you MUST have heard 'Run for the Roses,' it's about the Derby...'a chance of a lifetime, in a lifetime of chance..' God, that gets me every time.

    Code:
    Born in the valley
    And raised in the trees
    Of Western Kentucky
    On wobbly knees
    With mama beside you
    To help you along
You'll soon be a growing up strong.

    All the long, lazy mornings
    In pastures of green
    The sun on your withers
    The wind in your mane
    Could never prepare you
    For what lies ahead
The run for the roses so red --

And it's run for the roses
    As fast as you can
    Your fate is delivered
    Your moment's at hand
It's the chance of a lifetime
    In a lifetime of chance
And it's high time you joined
    In the dance
    It's high time you joined
    In the dance --

    From sire to sire
    It's born in the blood
    The fire of a mare
And the strength of a stud
    It's breeding and it's training
    And it's something unknown
    That drives you and carries
    You home.

And it's run for the roses
    As fast as you can
    Your fate is delivered
    Your moment's at hand
It's the chance of a lifetime
    In a lifetime of chance
And it's high time you joined
    In the dance
    It's high time you joined
    In the dance --
