    Company: Northern Virginia Daily
    Position:
    Sports reporter
    Location:
    Strasburg, Virginia
    Job Status: Full-time
    Salary: Not Specified
    Ad Expires:

    Description:
The Northern Virginia Daily, the best small daily newspaper in Virginia, seeks a talented, high-energy sports reporter.

Our four-person sports staff places a heavy emphasis on local high schools in a section that averages five pages daily. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and reporting skills and an eye for the human interest stories that take the reader beyond the final score. Daily sports desk and page design experience is a plus, but we will train the right candidate.

The six-day-a-week, independently owned newspaper covers the beautiful Northern Shenandoah Valley.

A resume, cover letter and at least five work samples should be mailed to Sports Editor Chuck McGill, Northern Virginia Daily, 152 N. Holliday St., Strasburg, Va. 22657, or e- mailed to cmcgill@nvdaily.com. Minority applicants encouraged.

Just wanted to see if anyone knew about the paper, opening, etc. Sorry if this has been posted already ... I didn't see it.

Should I take the lack of a JMU mention to mean the new candidate won't ever sniff that beat?

Did Mr. McGill take over for the departed Michael Petre, or is that a different joint?

You know, it never ceases to amaze me how these kids want to be reporters but can't find information that's right under their nose ... or readily available.

    Jesus. You're a reporter?

Stop allowing your precious little feelings to get in the way of a very valid point.

If you're on this board, you're online. And if you're online, there are better places to find some things that you're looking for without relying on some anonymous schmo on a message board.

It took me less time to find what this paper's circ was from a credible source than it took to post the question and wait for a response from someone who may or may not know what they're talking about.

Grow some thicker skin. And show some fucking initiative.
