I know that the NHL has done this for its all star game and normally you wouldn't want to try any thing the NHL does but I think I would be a really good Game if the NBA did so.

Well, just like the NHL, there's no defense played in the NBA all-star game.

If another league were to go this route, I would hope it's MLB so we can get away they can determine home-field advantage in the World Series based on, oh ... I don't know ... win-loss records maybe.

    #1: The typeface is stupid
#2: Your premise is stupid - think about how the NHL has a much higher percentage of foreign players.

The NHL tried it a couple of times about ten years ago.

Stupid idea then and still stupid.

I think this could really work for the NBA. Why? Well because I'm sure some of the World players would take it seriously. At the same time, the media would be all over the US all stars about how they can't win against the World players(the olympic games etc.) so you those guys are gonna' come to play.

It would have to be America vs. The World.

Canada would insist on Nash and Nowitzki on the same side, and Mexico would want Najera playing with them too and would balk on the NAFTA all-star game.

That might actually be a format worth watching.

No, USA vs. the World. The world team would be pretty tough.
