Norm Macdonald's 1998 ESPYs monologue...fairly spicy

Can you imagine if he said these things today? The line about the East German female speed skater is classic...

Wow. You mean different things were socially acceptable decades ago? I'm shocked. So does Paul Newman and Jack Robinson and Slim Pickens and some guys from Kansas City.

Didn't Will Ferrell also get in trouble for something he did at the ESPY's?

I love Norm, that was hilarious.

I love the Jerry Jones joke. "We have to get back to what made us a great team... Strippers and crack."

The Charles Woodson joke is classic as well...

And part of what got Norm fired from SNL a couple of weeks later. O.J. and then-NBC uber-exec Don Ohlmeyer were close friends.

    That was pretty awesome.

It's nice to be reminded of a day when people still had a sense of humor. Other that OJ's buddy Don Ohlmeyer of course... :D

Hamm brought out the wrecking ball for his monologue last night.

I didn't watch, but based on hearing interviews with Hamm on podcasts, he seems like a guy who is impossible not to like...

Hopefully when Mad Men ends, he becomes the next Clooney.

Watching that reminds why I was bummed when his Comedy Central sports show got cancelled.

So if he said those kinds of things today, he'd still be fired, just quicker?
