As the 49er Faithful rejoice!! After the progress made last year, I was actually a bit worried about the effect of Norv going to Big D. Now, I can think about more important things, like the impending championship run of the Warriors!

As for Bum Phillips, I loved the Oilers in the '70s, Luv Ya Blue! But for a bad call in the back of the end zone (the white Burrough?), the Oilers go to the '77 or '78 Super Bowl.

As long as they have Owens, they won't win anyway.

I'm not convinced he'll be back. Probably, but I bet they aren't sure themselves.

My take exactly. If he hadn't been a coach before he would've been one of the best hires. Granted, he has coached, but he was mediocre, and if anything a step above that before a step below.

For those saying if Garrett is so good, make him the head coach now, I don't think this is a bad move. Reports have said other teams wanted him as an offensive coordinator and he has more than two years of coaching experience. He's basically been a coach since he entered the league with the clipboard.

But like I said, Phillips won't finish the contract. JJ will have a high-profile pick walking into the new stadium.

Heard a clip on ESPN Radio in which Wade said, "First of all I don't handle players. I work with them."

Then he mentioned the Ingrate from Hell by name, to elicit some laughter. Decent comedic timing, I gotta admit.

I got to know Wade some back in the day, when he was still pretty much Son of Bum. He's a likable guy. But this has disaster written all over it, which is good.

I'm confused. If he doesn't last three years, will it, in hindsight, be a terrible choice?

Like I said before, he's way too fat for an NFL gig.
