No swearing at BU sporting events

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Smallpotatoes, Sep 13, 2006.

  1. The Beanpot is still the most under-rated sporting event in America.

BTW - it is illegal to swear in front of women and children in Michigan - so what BU is doing is nothing new.

  2. Whoops - that no swearing law in Michigan was struck down.

You have to stop, we can't keep running down to Texas to bail you out.

  6. Anyone who knows me that UNH hockey is my pride and joy, and I never missed game when I went to school there.

True story: BU was in town one night and two fans with a banner were being particularly obnoxious. So in between periods when they went to stand in line somewhere we sent someone over to steal the banner. It was an epic chase around Snively Arena until the guy made it back to our section where we tossed the thing around like a hot potato (I don't have it, he doesn't have it, what banner?). After some good laughs we gave it back when the guy made the mistake of giving our whole section the finger. He and his buddy were promptly escorted out of the building.

Best move Durham police ever made.

Are you the Chris who writes that blog on Sport Pages .com ? If so nice work.

  8. Alas no.

I'm guy who wrote "No Time Outs: What It's Really Like To Be A Sportswriter," "Crimson Storm Surge: Alabama Football Then And Now," and my latest, just-released book, "Where Football is King: A History of the SEC."

(My publisher would be so proud).

Ok thanks - keep up the prolific work!

I bet your chapter on Mike Price in 'bama book was a short one.

  10. Actually, it was, but he's in there. The middle section (the "Storm" part) tries to explain all the off-the-field issues, including the lawsuits and Logan Young trial.

Hopefully, at some point I'll have a chance to update that part (maybe the paperback version if we do one).

I'm just wondering how BU fans will react (feel free to offer suggestions) after the first shitty play...

    - Ah, Fudge!
    - Gosh Darn It!
    - Jiminy Cricket!
    - Gee Willikers!
