No SNL season debut thread?

I normally think everything is funny. I can't defend the season premiere.

I saw about 10 minutes total and wish I had every one of them back. Makes me so sad because of the love I used to have for this show.

They should make Sudekis's Glenn Beck a regular character. Glenn Beck goes to a children's art show and finds socialism, Glenn Beck uses a telestrator to show how a football play is socialist. Beck plays tic-tac-toe and turn it into a diagram of socialism.

Did Mohr get a second season? I really like the guy, but he was horrible on SNL. I read his book where he said he had to be medicated to get through the season.

Did Spade write a book? I'm surprised I missed that. I've always been a big fan of his, even though most of his movies are God awful.

You could argue that at times during Nealon's tenure that he was the weakest link in the cast. If he was on now, he'd be the best by a longshot.

Any show that gives Adam Sandler more play than Chris Rock needs to rethink things.

That's sad, and yet, completely true.

To be fair, I find Chris Rock VERY hit or miss. He has made just as many shitty movies as Sandler, and doesn't have any strong ones to balance it out. He's just much, much better at stand-up, which Sandler has never seemed to do as much of.

  9. Chris Rock has made WAAAAY more shittier movies than Sandler. But his standup is much, much better.

I could care less about movies, Rock has one of the sharpest comic minds ever. Every standup special he has done has been awesome.

Chris Rock is a genius. Nothing he did on SNL was ever even remotely close to what he's done as a standup.

If I'm not mistaken, Sandler might have even been fired off SNL. I love Sandler, but I guarantee you nobody could have predicted that he would have ever become a huge movie star.

He made a couple very funny movies (Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore), which are probably my favorites of his work. But Wedding Singer and Waterboy turned him into a superstar.

These days I like about 2 of every 3 Sandler movies, but it's been a long time since he's made a "great" film, although I really, really liked Funny People.

What has impressed me most about Sandler's career is how well he's done some serious roles. He was very, very good in Spanglish.
