    agreed...they will either find a new SE or they will drop sports from their coverage. That sounds like a disaster in the making.

    Reporter: "Hi, I'm Pete with the News-Express...how many points did you win by tonight?"
    Coach: "Uh, we're just starting warm-ups. Would you mind stepping off the court for a moment."
    Reporter: "How long does this take...I have a City Council meeting at 7"
    (Coach shrugs and walks away)

    At small community papers that a lot of time don't do anything much beyond spot news, a respectable - and I'd argue good - sports page is essential.
