    Still makes my job on the desk tough tonight: Six local stories, five with photos. The NHL Draft (it's Canada!) and now this performance.

    I just thank the baseball gods Thomas only hit 499, not 500.

    It's games like this that restore my faith in the Jays and their chances at a Wild Card spot. They are seven back heading into today.

    And Halladay is shelved.
