Biden is a world-class doofus and he's basically gotten a pass. All depends on who is directing the "news" coverage.

Sounds like a liberal professor who needs to work on his indoctrinating skills.

Good point. Some are so wacky, they can't even get the liberal kids to buy what they are selling. Unless it's weed.

You're not exactly wrong. He served his share of word salad, like her. But Dan Quayle is a Rhodes Scholar compared to the Mayor of Wasilla. It's not remotely a fair fight. He's went to DePauw University, which is very respected, and then Indiana University Law School, also very respected. (Top 20 in the nation, I believe.) He practiced law and then became a United States Senator in a record-setting landslide vote before he was 30 or at least very close to it. He's smart. He's just a poor speaker.

Palin would be in the lower half of any of our high school graduating classes, and carved out that fan base because of her schtick of viciously firing on people, like a grown-up mean girl.

If you (and your family) had been treated the way she (and hers) was, I think even you might have lowered yourself a plane or ten.

    Please.

She was brought on board to fire on everybody, and that's what she did.

    "Palling around with terrorists."

    "Community organizer."

    Snipe, snipe, snipe.

She's a moron. And she's a mean moron. She's an embarrassment to her gender, her state, and her country. Not for one second is she actually upset about anything said about her or her family. Every time Seth MacFarlane or someone like him makes a joke at her expense, it's, "Cha-ching!" for her.

Here's a short history of that band of first-class idiots:

    • Levi Johnston poses in Playgirl.
    • Brawl at a family reunion.
    • Bristol getting pregnant out of wedlock (again) after merrily collecting $25,000 speaker's fees to spread her abstinence message.
    Idiots.

You're conveniently overlooking some rather broad ugliness fired her (and her family's) way in the early days of her VP candidacy. If you want to argue that her subsequent behavior validates that treatment, well you have right at it. But no matter how bad she's been in the intervening years, there's no excuse for the way she was treated. None.

The New York Times banner headline the morning after her convention speech:

    "A Star Is Born."

    Gasp ... the ugliness.
