Would you feel safe flying in a Boeing 737 Max?

I wouldn't. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever.

If it was a US airline, I would feel safe. It's not even a question.

It’s a question for me. If I’m looking at booking a flight, I’m damn sure picking a flight that isn’t using a Max. I don’t trust Boeing to put people over profits.

At that point it isn't Boeing's issue, it is the carriers'. Max sucks and Boeing's response was awful, but US based/trained pilots would have figured things out.

Update on the 737 Max — looks like it still sucks.
An Alaska Airlines flight from Portland had to make an emergency landing after a piece of the fuselage blew out. The rapid decompression ripped the shirt off a teenager in the middle seat of the row where it blew. The window seat, thankfully, was unoccupied and no one was seriously injured.

Geez. Brand new. Sounds like workmanship, quality assurance, human issues.

Also wouldn’t be surprised to hear supply chain issues or counterfeit parts listed as a cause.

Is it just me or does that hole look an awful lot like a typical door opening? On a row with normal seating? Not an emergency exit?

Maybe the door wasn't properly closed and sealed shut before the flight?
