Both the Tiger and the Vol in me is actually thrilled KU is signing this guy. Never thought I'd say that about a No. 1 prospect.

Disheartening. The fanatics may have played a part in his decision to attend Kentucky.

You might not be too far off. It seemed all along that once he'd made all his visits he just wanted to be left alone to think it over and make a decision. But Huntington isn't far from Lexington and scanning a UK message board yesterday it seemed like some of those fanatics where practically stalking the kid.

The thing that gets me about the Kentucky butthurt is that they STILL have the highest rated recruiting class in the history of college basketball this year--Kentucky landed the No. 1 ranked player at FOUR of the five positions (Wiggins being the only one they missed), has a record SIX McDonald's All Americans, and is projected as the pre-season No. 1 ranked team this year.

So this was hardly tragedy for them, all still appears quite golden in the world of UK basketball. Yet they were furious anyways yesterday because ONE kid had the audacity to turn down Calipari.

It's dirty only because it's uncontrolled. Calipari's actually got a decent frame of mind on this, as much as it sickens me to say this. He doesn't put on a facade about how good school is for these players that shouldn't have to waste their time there anyway. They'll be there one year and then get the money they should've been entitled to a year earlier.

If the NCAA wants to make things right, it needs to create an open market so kids like Wiggins can make their worth.

It is the NBA that says high school kids can't enter the draft, not the NCAA.

Cool. It's the NCAA that refuses to give its athletes fair compensation.

Except his decision is to attend Kansas. It's even in the story. ::)

Yeah, you get so sick of Kentucky getting everyone that it's actually nice to see them miss out on someone, even if it means he's going to Kansas.

Just saw this piece about the twitter attacks containing this fun little nugget:

    http://www.foxsportssouthwest.com/story/Wiggins-signing-brings-out-dark-side-of-?blockID=902317&feedID=11017

Social media is the the worst thing ever to happen to stupid people who don't know when to shut up. The one responsible for that video is probably hiding under a rock today. Is there any surer way to turn yourself into a pariah in Lexington?
