We've done the AL, might as well talk about the NL.

    Likely candidates:

    Dan Haren, Arizona Diamondbacks
    Tim Lincecum, San Francisco Giants
    Chris Carpenter, St. Louis Cardinals
    Johan Santana, New York Mets
    Matt Cain, San Francisco Giants
    J.A. Happ, Philadelphia Phillies
    Javier Vazquez, Atlanta Braves
    Adam Wainwright, St. Louis Cardinals
    Chad Billingsley, Los Angeles Dodgers
    Josh Johnson, Florida Marlins
    Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers
    Yovani Gallardo, Milwaukee Brewers

If there's more, please go ahead and add them.

    Have at it.

I like Wainwright, but I don't think he has the name recognition, and he'll be hurt by the "he's not the best pitcher on his team" argument, which I don't think is true but is tied into the lack of name recognition.

I guess it all depends on how much weight you put on those six missed starts for Carpenter. Certainly tough to overlook that, but he's having a phenomenal season. Better than Lincecum in many respects. I think it comes down to those two, with Lincecum pulling it out because he's played the full season.

And the fact that St. Louis is ahead by 7 or 8 games, with that offense -- seriously, take a look; the power numbers read like Jack Clark and the Seven Dwarfs again, only they can't run worth a shit, because Pujols leads in steals, too! -- is mind-blowing. Shows just how much of an effect Holliday has had.

Take April out, and it is Jimenez in a runaway

Take October out and the Braves have something like 12 championships.

    Carpenter or Lincecum.
Why is there anyone else to debate?

And, really, Kevin you listed about 10 guys who shouldn;t even get a single vote.
