200-something degrees Fahrenheit, huh?!! Still not hot enough to stop State!

State and WVa about to tip.
    Clemson and Air Force later.

State favored by 26-28 in most Vegas betting houses for the opener.
    Should be a rout.

So help me, West Virginia's Mountaineer mascot is AWESOME.
Leather buckskin clothes, coonskin cap, musket and - most importantly - a raging just-out-of-the-woods brown beard.
    Is that thing real?
How do you grow such a thing?
Does he wear it around campus and pick up chicks with a facial hair fetish?
    Inquiring minds want to know.

By the way, I know nobody cares, but this has been a heck of a game. 61-60 WVU with 35 seconds to go... WVU has the ball.
Sounds like it's much less of a blowout than anyone expected.

Actually, I was the only one who predicted a blowout.
In jest, too, but in hopes.
Great comeback from about 14 down by Mountaineers.
Last-second 3 wins it. Congrats to WVa
And to linotype, who likely wins the pool

Bully a 26 to 28 point favorite in Vegas? You sure it's Las Vegas and not Starkvegas? The ones I saw had State favored by 1.5.

Part of the search for the new Mountaineer each fall is a beard-growing contest during Mountaineer Week. Most of the prospective mascots enter.

I find it hard to imagine that MSU would have been a 26-point favorite to anybody, but I don't pay that much attention to such things. I suspect nobody was more surprised than the Bulldogs with the Mountaineers didn't wilt.

    Nearly 30-point favorites?
Maybe it was Florida over the rest of the NCAA Final Four field that I was thinking about.

    West Virginia-Clemson. It's like a much-delayed Gator Bowl.
