You can't have the NIT semifinals without a South Carolina team, I guess.

There's no crying in the NIT! Oh, I guess that's OK since it's the coach's kid.

Sorry folks will update this as soon as the Air Force-DePaul game goes final. The last two nights, I've been booted from this place by the stupid host problems.

    I don't understand what happened. They didn't even hit a buzzer-beater. Weird.

What the heck else is there to do in Clemson?

You do if you've never had anything else to celebrate.

I know one school where the whole damn arena was gonna storm the court if the team could have just won one more goddamn game last year. No names! :D :(

Holy moley do I suck. Linotype, meanwhile, will win it all as long as Mississippi State doesn't win it all.

    Standings thru the quarterfinals:

    linotype: 28 pts
    TheSportsPredictor: 21 pts
    Angola!: 20 pts
    crimsonace: 16 pts
    Blitz: 16 pts
    McNuggetsMan: 16 pts
    Idaho: 15 pts
    BYH: 10 pts

    REMAINING TEAMS:
    linotype: West Virginia (champions)
    TSP: West Virginia (runner-up)
    Blitz: Mississippi State (champions)
    McNuggetsMan: West Virginia (champions)
    Idaho: Clemson (semis)

Linotype can do no worse than tie for the title. The only person who can tie linotype is Blitz, who will have 28 pts if Mississippi State beats WVA in the semis and wins the title game. Blitz would win the tiebreaker because he had the champion (note: no tiebreaker option was offered at the start of the pool. This is something I just decided. My ability to decide on a tiebreaker late in the tournament was spelled out in the fine print I did not produce).

The rest of us are playing out the string. Especially me.

Chalk was just as prevalent in the NIT as it was in the NCAA. All four No. 1 seeds advance. Shows the value of home court -- by my quick math, home teams were 24-4 in the first three rounds.

EDIT to correct home teams' record.

FWIW, a 3 and a 5 made it to NYC last year. But yeah, chalk. Gotta remember chalk.
